In a major turn of events for Bryan’s professional career, he has decided to forge a new path down the road of entrepreneurship.  Thinking about doing this for 20 years, and actually doing it are two very different things!  While it is scary to think about the unknown future, we are confident that we can make things work.  As part of the transition, the following portrait was taken for the BRE Real Estate website at www.bre-realestate.com

On a bit of a whim, we decided to go to New York City for a few days.  Using some milleage credit we jumped on a airplane and headed for the Big Apple.  Absolutely incredible trip. 

 

Our first major tourist stop was the Statue of Liberty.

That evening we went to Lincoln Center to watch South Pacific the musical.  Lisa scored us front row seats.  It felt as if we were sitting right on stage!  We had such a wonderful evening.  On day two, we spent most of the day inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art which is right next to Central Park.  We saw some of the most amazing art work!!!  Only regret is that I did not take any good pictures.  Even without the pictures, the memories of our trip will last a lifetime!  If you have not vacationed in Manhattan, put it high on your to do list. Oh – and TAKE PICTURES!

While in Breckenridge we took the entire family to the indoor skating rink for some fun and merriment!  What a great time we had.  Each of us, except Sarah and Sam, put on some skates and headed out on the ice.  Jacob and Beth were able to use some sliding frames that provided a crutch for them so they wouldn’t fall on the ice.  This was very helpful and gave them both additional confidence in their ability.  By the end, both of them we just cruising across the ice!!!  Here are a few pictures to enjoy.

 

 

After procrastinating for over a year, I have finally set up the Hardman family blog!  The purpose of this blog is to record the events and activities that we enjoy, and share them with our friends and family.  In this new world of virtual connection, it is our hope that you will enjoy our family posts.  We look forward to your comments.

New Years 2009 in Breckenridge, CO

 

We started the new year in Breckenridge!  What a wonderful time we had, riding the gondola to and from the slopes, skiing, sledding, and just enjoying each others’ company.  Grandma Ruth even joined us on the gondola which was a real treat for the kids.  I think Grandma even enjoyed it once her feet were back on the firm ground!

Bryan and Lisa enjoyed a wonderful evening out on a horse -drawn sleigh ride into the deep woods.  It was so beautiful and peaceful.  While in the woods, we were treated to hot chocolate, a great steak dinner, and very amusing entertainment.
